Nanjing 2nd Asian Youth Games Commences
The Team Welcome Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the Nanjing 2nd Asian Youth Games (AYG) was held yesterday (15 August 2013) in the AYG Athletes’ Village. We have great pleasure to have Mr. GAO Ming, Deputy Mayor of the Athletes' Village to officiate the ceremony and exchanged the souvenir with Mr. Ronnie WONG, Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong, China Delegation. Mr. Timothy T.T. FOK, Vice President of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) cum President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC), Mr. PANG Chung, Hon. Secretary General of the SF&OC, Prof. LEUNG Mee Lee, Hon. Deputy Secretary General of SF&OC and about 15 athletes of Hong Kong Delegation also attended the Ceremony.
In addition, the Hong Kong, China Delegation had attended the Opening Ceremony of the AYG today (16 August 2013) at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre. The flag bearer, Mr. Hugo CHUI Ho Ching of the Rugby team with 10 representatives of the Hong Kong Delegation marched-in at the Ceremony.
The Hong Kong, China Delegation comprising 102 young athletes born between 1996 to 1999 will participate in 12 sports, namely Aquatics (Swimming/Diving), Athletics, Badminton, Fencing, Football, Golf, Handball, Judo, Rugby, Squash, Table Tennis and Tennis.
