The Flag Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the 47th International Children’s Games and Nanjing 2nd Asian Youth Games
The Flag Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the 47th International Children’s Games (ICG) and the Nanjing 2nd Asian Youth Games (AYG) concluded successfully at the Jockey Club Lecture Theatre of Olympic House today (1 August 2013).
In the presence of the Elected Officers of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (the Federation) and guests, including HKSAR Government officials and National Sports Associations’ representatives, The Hon. TSANG Tak Sing, GBS, JP, Secretary for Home Affairs of Home Affairs Bureau presented the HKSAR flag to Mr. Timothy T.T. FOK, GBS, JP, President of the Federation, Dr. Felix YIP, Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the 47th ICG and Mr. Philip LI, Chairman of Hong Kong Baseball Association. At the same occasion, Mr. TSANG made his presence and also presented the HKSAR flag to Mr. FOK, Mr. PANG Chung, SBS, BBS, Hon. Secretary General of the Federation, and Mr. Ronnie WONG, JP, Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the Nanjing 2nd AYG and gave his blessing to the two delegations.
The 47th ICG will be held from 14 to 19 August 2013 in Windsor-Essex, Canada. Hong Kong will be sending 13 young athletes aged between 12 to 15 years old to compete in the Boy’s Baseball event. The Delegation list is attached at Annex I.
For the 2nd AYG, it will be held from 16 to 24 August 2013 in Nanjing, China. The Hong Kong, China Delegation comprising 102 young athletes born between 1996 to 1999 and 32 team officials who will participate in 12 sports, namely Aquatics (Swimming/Diving), Athletics, Badminton, Fencing, Football, Golf, Handball, Judo, Rugby, Squash, Table Tennis and Tennis. The Delegation list is attached at Annex I.
The Federation will set up a webpage for the 2nd AYG to introduce the Games and Hong Kong, China Delegation. During the period of the Games, the most updated competition results of the Hong Kong, China Delegation will be uploaded onto the webpage. Taking this opportunity, the Federation would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Home Affairs Bureau and Leisure and Cultural Services Department for their staunch support to the two Games.
